ARCATA — Jordan Dahl and Jamie Lowe came through with clutch two-out hits in the seventh inning, bringing No. 8 seed Cal State San Bernardino back from a large deficit to claim a 10-8 win over Seattle University at the NCAA Division II West Region Softball Championships on Friday.

The Coyotes trailed 8-2 early in the game, and were down 8-6 with two outs in their last at-bats when Dahl doubled, scoring Tori Beaudette and Tayler Wilsen, who had walked and singled. Debbie Shisler, who had also singled to keep the rally going, advanced to third on the play, and both she and Dahl came home on Lowe's double.

CSU San Bernardino (36-31-1) kept its hopes alive with the win, moving to the 4:30 p.m. elimination game against host Humboldt State. Seattle University's season ended with a 38-14 record.

Four different pitchers shared the circle for the Coyotes, Tawni Baker earning the win by working the final 3.1 innings. Baker allowed only one hit and no runs, striking out three and walking one to improve her record to 11-8.  SU's Erin Martin, who went the distance, finished with a 25-6 record, allowing 15 hits and nine earned runs while striking out three and walking two.

Seattle University jumped on CSUSB starting pitcher Jackie Jacob in the first inning, three walks and four hits translating into a 4-0 lead. Sandra Hernandez' double drove in two of the runs.

The Coyotes pulled back within two by banging out five hits in the top of the second, including an RBI single by Lowe. But the Redhawks answered with three in the bottom of the inning and tacked on a single run in the third on Jane Purdy's home run.

CSU San Bernardino rallied for four runs in the fourth, two of them coming in on Priscilla Curiel's two-out single. The score remained at 6-4 until the top of the seventh.
