ARCATA — Fall sports season gets underway for Humboldt State University's men's and women's soccer and volleyball programs with the former two opening at home while the spike squad travels.
The Lumberjack women's soccer team opens the campaign Friday with a non-league game against Western Oregon in Redwood Bowl. Head Coach Christian "CJ" Johnson also makes his personal debut when the Jacks take the field for a 1 p.m. start.
Johnson sends his men's team into action Saturday in a non-league game against William Jessup. Kickoff in Redwood Bowl is set for 4 p.m.
Coach Sue Woodstra takes her HSU volleyball team on the road to Rohnert Park, where the Lumberjacks will participate in the Seawolf Spike tournament. On Friday the Jacks face Central Washington and Dominican University, and on Saturday they challenge Northwest Nazarene and Western Or
