ARCATA — Football season gets underway with a long roadtrip to Colorado, and cross country begins its season this week at an even more distant location. All six Humboldt State fall sports programs are in action, in fact, with men's and women's soccer and volleyball are also traveling for weekend events.

Adams State, in Alamosa, Colo., hosts the HSU football team at noon Mountain Standard Time on Saturday. The game will be broadcast live locally on KATA, 1340 AM, and audio streamed on the hsujacks.com web site.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams fly to Hawaii for their season-opener, the Hawaii Pacific Invitational in Honolulu. Racing gets underway at 4 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time.

Coming off wins in their season openers at home, the Humboldt State men's and women's soccer programs face stiff competition on a roadtrip north.  They play a doubleheader Thursday at Seattle Pacific, another on Saturday at Western Washington, then conclude the journey with games at Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Wash. on Monday, Sept. 7.
