ARCATA — In the thick of the California Collegiate Athletic Association basketball season, both the Humboldt State men and women bring their basketball skills back home for two doubleheaders in Lumberjack Arena this week.

HSU opens the homestand with a basketball doubleheader against San Francisco State, starting with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. and capping off with the men's game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Highlighting the week will be Saturday's nationwide telecast of the men's game on CBS College Sports. Tip-off against Cal State Monterey Bay is set for 2:30 p.m. The game can be viewed locally on on Suddenlink channel 242, Dish Network channel 152 or DirecTV channel 613. It can also be viewed via broadband through the NCAA's web site at www.ncaa.com.

Following the men's game, the HSU women take on Cal State Monterey, with tip-off set for approximately 4:30 p.m. The doubleheader will also feature activities for young fans, including face painting, a photo station and stick-ons and  as part of "Family Fun Day." Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. in the lower lobby of Lumberjack Arena.

Spring sports begins this week with softball's annual appearance in the Best of the West Classic hosted by Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock. The Lumberjacks are scheduled to play six games, two each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
