WALNUT CREEK - Humboldt State pitcher Gracie Perez and outfielder Nikki Ketteringham have been named the Worth/California Collegiate Athletic Associaion (CCAA) Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week respectively for the week of April 12-18, it was announced on Wednesday.

Perez, a senior from Littlerock, Calif., posted a 4-0 record, 1.71 ERA and three complete games in four appearances as she helped pitch the Lumberjacks into contention for a CCAA Tournament berth. In 26 2/3 innings, she allowed 21 hits, eight runs (five earned), walked 13 and struck out 22 while limiting the opposition to a .221 average.

Perez tossed a pair of complete games in road wins at Cal State Stanislaus and was the winning pitcher in the first two games against San Francisco State. Her week was highlighted by an eight-inning complete-game against Cal State Stanislaus in which she struck out 10.

This is the second week in a row and the fourth time in her career that Perez has received this honor.

Ketteringham, a junior from San Diego, Calif., was an offensive force at the plate as she helped Humboldt State vault four places in the conference standings with one week remaining in the regular season. In helping the Lumberjacks to a 6-0 record, she batted .640 (14-for-22) with 12 runs scored, three doubles, a pair of home runs and four RBI, while slugging 1.050 and posting a .773 on-base percentage.

Ketteringham had multiple hits in every game and scored at least two runs in five of six contests as the Lumberjacks swept a road series at Cal State Stanislaus and took the three games of a four-game series against San Francisco State.

This is the first time this season, and in her career, that Ketteringham has been honored with a CCAA Player of the Week award.

Humboldt State closes out the regular-season this weekend with four games at first-place Sonoma State.
