ARCATA – Humboldt State softball’s Nikki Ketteringham, Gracie Perez and Chrissy Stalf were named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Conference performers it was announced today.  All three earned second-team honors.

For Ketteringham, a junior out of San Diego, this is her third all-conference honor.  She was a first-team selection in 2009, a second-team selection in 2008 and she was the CCAA’s Freshman of the Year in 2008, as well.

Ketteringham led the team with 22 multi-hit games, including two four-hits efforts.  Her 20-game hitting streak was the clubs longest of the season.  She led the squad in batting average (.411), runs (43), hits (74), doubles (18), slugging percentage (.617), total bases (111) and on-base percentage (456).  Her two triples were tied for second and she was third in RBI with 23.

A senior from Littlerock, Calif., Perez earned the first all-conference honor of her two-year HSU career by posting a 15-9 record with a 3.08 ERA.  The 15 wins led the team as did her four shutouts.  She pitched 157.2 innings and struck out 148 hitters while allowing only 55 walks.  Batters averaged .227 against her in 24 starts and 28 total appearances.

Stalf, a freshman out of Oakley, Calif., earned her first All-CCAA recognition.  She led the team with 34 RBI and was just one of two players to start and play in every game this year.  She ranked second in average (.369), hits (66), runs (27), doubles (12), total bases (92), slugging percentage (.512) and on-base percentage (.426).  In 179 at-bats she struck out just nine times.  Her 411 chances and 387 putouts were tops on the team.  Her nine multi-RBI games led the squad and her 17 multi-hit games were good for second.

Players earning individual honors include Cal State Dominguez Hills sophomore shortstop Emiley McEwen, who was voted the CCAA’s Most Valuable Player. Sophomore pitcher Camille Gaito of UC San Diego and Cal State Monterey Bay’s Diane Ortiz were named Co-Most Valuable Pitchers of the Year. Ortiz also was selected Newcomer of the Year and Britney Butler of Cal State San Bernardino was tabbed Freshman of the Year.

Fourth-year head coach Andrea Kenney was chosen Coach of the Year after guiding Cal State Monterey Bay to a 32-16 overall record, including a 25-11 conference mark, and the CCAA’s regular-season title.
