ARCATA — Summer fun means an opportunity for young athletes to continue improving their skills in their chosen sport or sports. Humboldt State once again is offering multiple opportunities for skill development in a variety of summer camps.

Following is a brief description of each camp, with links to download the specific camp brochures included.

Strength & Conditioning Camp
June 14 - July 16 and July 19 - August 20
Ages Jr. High through High School

Spend your summer in the Humboldt State Student Recreation Center Strength and Fitness Facility, training under the direction of Strength and Conditioning Coach Drew Petersen and Certified Strength and Conditioning staff members. Features individualized training in the areas of plyometrics, speed development, strength development, power development, agility, Olympic lifting, nutrition and flexibility. $80 per session.For more information, please contact the HSU Strength and Conditioning office at (707) 826-4519, or the Student Recreation Center front desk at 826-4196. Humboldt State Girls Basketball Individual Camp
June 21-24, 2010
For players from 2nd to 12th grade
The camp is under the direction of HSU Head Coach Joddie Gleason and assistant coach Skip Gleason.
Camp features include a camp shirt,  daily awards,  camp ball, instruction from college players and coaches,  skill development, all-you-can eat meals.
2nd–5th Day Camp ($195)
6th – 12th Commuter Camp ($295)
6th – 12th Overnight Camp ($395)

Humboldt State Girls Basketball Team Camp
June 25-27, 2010
High School Girls Varsity and JV players
The Humboldt State Women’s Staff and players provide enthusiastic, quality instruction for both individual and team skill development during clinic sessions. A guarantee of five games during the camp played indoors at newly opened Lumberjack Arena or The East Gym.
Cost is $325 for both Varsity Division and JV/Small School Varsity Division.

Humboldt State Boys Basketball Camp
June 28-July 1, 2010
For players from 2nd to 12th grade
The Lumberjack Basketball Camp has earned the reputation of giving the camper his money's worth! This summer's camp will have new programs to assure each camper an overdose of basketball.
Camp features include direction from HSU players and coaches, camp jersey, daily awards, camp picture, skill development,  a professional guest speaker and all-you-can-eat meals.
2nd - 5th Grade Day Campers. - $279
6th - 12th Grade Commuter Campers -  $379
Overnight Campers - $439

Humboldt State Girls Volleyball Camp
July 18-21, 2010
Open to girls in grades 7 through 12
Humboldt State volleyball camp, directed by former U.S. Olympic player and coach Sue Woodstra, features instruction of individual skills, and controlled scrimmage situations. Guest speakers will focus on fitness and conditioning, goal setting and discussion.
Registration cost is $300 for commuter campers and $395 for overnight campers.

Humboldt State Junior Jacks Football Camp

July 29-31, 2010
Ages 8 to 13
HSU head coach Rob Smith, along with his assistant coaches and players, will provide instruction in position-specific drills and basic fundamentals. Each activity will be adapted to the individual player's ability and skill level, in a fun and safe environment. Registration fee is $90. Humboldt State Soccer Youth Camp, Kids Camp and Team Camp
August 2-5, 2010
Ages 5 to 14
Kids Camp (ages 5-8) -  Campers will participate in one training session per day. The focus will be on the fundementals
of soccer and having fun!! $100 per athlete
Youth Camp (ages 9 to 14) - Campers will focus on development of the athletes technical skills. Afternoon sessions will concentrate on tactical development through small-sided games. $150 per athlete.
Team Camp -This camp is designed for teams to train together. The focus is working with each team’s individual coach to make sure
that their athletes are ready for competition heading into their league season. $1,250 per team. An average of $78 per player.

Humboldt State Soccer College ID Camp

August 6-8
Separate camps for males and females, ages 14 and older.
